The national futsal team won its Slovakian counterpart with the score of 4 goals to 1 in a friendly game played Friday at the Alane hall in Bratislava, Slovakia.
This match is part of the national team’s preparations for the World Cup finals to be held in Lithuania from 12 September to 4 October 2021.
The goals of the national team were scored by Youssef Jaouad, Youssef Mezrai, Mohammed Achraf and Saoud Saad Kniya.
Morocco’s U17 futsal team claimed the title at the “Castro Del Rio” international tournament in Cordoba, Spain, after winning all three of their matches.
The young Atlas Lions opened the competition with an 8-4 victory over France, followed by a 4-2 win against hosts Spain.
Morocco sealed the tournament with a dominant 10-2 win over the United States on Sunday. Rayane El Yaacoubi led the scoring with four goals, while Hamza El Ahmadi added two. Ibrahim Houdan, Khalil El Khiraoui, Anouar Abdenebit, and Reda El Bahri also found the net.
The Moroccan women’s futsal team won the title of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON Morocco-2025) by defeating their Tanzanian counterpart 3–2 in the final held Wednesday evening at the indoor arena of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
Morocco’s goals were scored by Doha El Madani (20′), Drissia Korrych (34′), and Jasmine Demraoui (40′), while Anastazia Katunzi (4′) and Jamila Rajabu (16′) netted for Tanzania.
Both finalists of this AFCON have secured their spots in the Women’s Futsal World Cup, scheduled to take place in the Philippines from November 27 to December 7, 2025.
Morocco’s women’s futsal team reached the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final with a 5-1 semifinal win over Angola on Monday at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
Goals were scored by Doha Madani (13′, 34′), Zineb Erroudany (30′), Jasmine Demraoui (33′), and Meryem Hajri (39′), while Djamila Lussinga Catombela (18′) netted Angola’s only goal.
In the final, Morocco will face Tanzania on Wednesday, after Tanzania qualified with a 3-2 victory over Cameroon.
The Moroccan women’s futsal team got off to a perfect start at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON Morocco-2025), thrashing their Namibian counterparts (8-1), in a match from Day 1 (Group A), played on Tuesday evening at the indoor hall of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
In their first match of the tournament, hosted by Morocco until April 30, the Atlas Lionesses opened the score through Malak Zaid Alkilani, followed by goals from AS FAR’s Doha El Madani, as well as Soumia Hady, Amal El Aoufi and Siham Tadlaoui, to mark the first half.
The second half made the tally higher through another shot by El Madani before Jasmine Demraoui netted a brace, while the Namibians scored their single point.
The match was attended by Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports Mohamed Saad Berrada, and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation Fouzi Lekjaa.
Next Thursday, the Atlas Lionesses will play against their Cameroonian counterparts.
Moroccan men’s futsal team has moved up one spot to 6th worldwide, while the women’s national team has moved up 18 places, according to the latest world rankings published by FIFA on Friday.
Despite losing 7.6 points compared to the last ranking in October 2024, Morocco climbed the rankings thanks to Kazakhstan (7th) dropping 2 spots (-60.91 points).
With 1468.4 points, Morocco maintains its position as leader of the African ranking, followed by Egypt (37th), Libya (46th), South Africa (49th, up 2) and Angola (58th).
Concerning the world Top 5, Brazil remains first ahead of Portugal by over 100 points. Spain (3rd, +1) has overtaken Argentina (4th, -1), while Iran (5th, +1) and Morocco (6th, +1) have also progressed at the expense of Kazakhstan (7th, -2).
Meanwhile, Poland (19th, +3) and Armenia (20th, +11) make their first appearance in the top 20.
In addition to Armenia, several teams have improved their ranking by more than 10 places since last October: Bosnia-Herzegovina (36th, +12), Andorra (55th, +13), Latvia (60th, up 11) and Greece (88th, +19).
With regards to women’s Futsal ranking, also published by FIFA, Morocco ascended through 18 spots to become one of the top-ranked nations.
Now ranked 47th worldwide, the Moroccan women’s national team tops the African ranking, followed by Senegal, 78th (+753 points).
Morocco earned Friday the 7th place in the International Federation of Association Football’s (FIFA) world ranking.
With a total of 1,476.25 points, Morocco, quarter-finalist at the 2024 World Cup in Uzbekistan, leads African and Arab teams.
Brazil, recently crowned world champion, strengthened its lead, widening the gap with Portugal.
